Are you a licensed tour operator?

Yes. MiniTreks is a fully licensed Tanzanian tour operator. All our guides are certified and our operations comply with Tanzania Tourism Authority regulations.

How do I get in touch with your team?

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard) and all major Tanzanian mobile money platforms ,  M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money, HaloPesa and VodaLipa. International bank transfers are also available for larger bookings.

Always. Every MiniTreks tour is led by a certified local guide who knows the terrain, speaks Swahili and English and has genuine passion for Tanzania's wildlife and culture. No scripts, no generic commentary ,  real knowledge from people who grew up here.

Are meals and accommodation included?

It depends on the package. Each tour listing clearly states what's included ,  meals, accommodation, park fees and transport. If you're unsure, reach out before booking and we'll walk you through every detail.

Can I customise a tour to fit my budget or preferences?

Absolutely ,  this is one of our strengths. Tell us your destination, travel dates, group size and budget and we'll build a personalised itinerary around you. We've arranged everything from solo budget adventures to luxury private safaris.

How many people are on a typical tour?

Group sizes vary. Some tours are intimate (2–5 people), others can accommodate larger groups. Private tours are available if you'd prefer not to share your experience. Check each tour's listing for capacity details.

Is there a minimum age requirement?

Age requirements vary by tour type. Kilimanjaro treks require participants to be at least 10 years old. Safari drives are generally suitable for all ages. Some adventure activities have their own requirements ,  always check the specific tour page.

How do I book a tour?

Browse our tours at minitreks.com/discover, select your tour and follow the booking flow. You can also WhatsApp or email us directly ,  especially useful for custom itineraries or group bookings where you'd like to talk through options first.

How far in advance should I book?

Accepted Answer

For popular tours like Kilimanjaro treks or Serengeti safaris, we recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks in advance, especially during peak season (July–October and December–January). Day trips and city tours can often be arranged with just a few days' notice.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

Accepted Answer

Yes, changes and cancellations are handled according to our cancellation policy. Generally: full refund if cancelled 14+ days before departure, partial refund within 7–14 days and no refund within 7 days. We always try to be flexible ,  contact us and we'll find a solution.

Is a deposit required to confirm a booking?

Accepted Answer

For most tours, a 30% deposit is required to secure your dates. The balance is due 7 days before departure. For short day trips, full payment may be required upfront. Payment terms are stated on each booking confirmation.

What should I pack for a tour?

Light, breathable clothing for most tours. For Kilimanjaro you'll need warm layers and proper hiking gear ,  we send a detailed packing list after booking. Generally: comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, insect repellent, camera and any personal medication.

What happens if a tour is cancelled due to bad weather?

Safety is our priority. If conditions make a tour unsafe, your guide will make the call to postpone or cancel. You'll be offered a reschedule to an alternative date or a full refund. We never rush into the field when conditions are dangerous.

Does MiniTreks offer travel insurance?

We don't sell travel insurance directly, but we strongly recommend taking out a comprehensive policy before travel. It should cover medical emergencies, trip cancellation and evacuation ,  especially for trekking or remote safari tours. We can recommend trusted providers.
